Unity Tutorial 06

 Unity Tutorial 06

Visual styling and user interface, this is where we're going to be adding our health bar our visual effects all visual elements to give the player clear and distinct information.

I mentioned it before the most important one being the health bar this will show the player how much HP health points, they have left before they hit a game over, we simply go into the overlay function and line this bad boy up.

We then link a masking tool to our character every time she gets hit lowering the mask every time she is hit. this gives the illusion of a health bar lowering when really all we're doing is hiding parts of the image with a function designed for our character.

Blue building oversight by me but I never actually added anything for the character passing away. she would hit the end of her HP, but she could still walk around. visual element was there and put together nicely so I thought to myself that that be enough for me.

We also had to add extra characters much like Mr. frog. we brought a lot of the same elements as we did before to animate this buddy of ours to be able to move as he communicates dialogue which I'll be getting into in the next topic

Recasting was a very new topic to me I had never covered anything like this before in my personal projects nor the ones I've done in the past in college. we learned how to use new functions and had to update a function through ruby's controller. (I'm not really sure what that means but it seems to have worked)
